May I please borrow your vocabulary journals for the first two weeks or so of the school year? I would really like to show my new students samples of what I will expect them to create this year. I predict that parents who attend the Back-To-School night will want to see them, also. Please let me know how/when I can get my hands on your journals! My preference is that you drop it off at my house this week--you all know where I live! I would come pick it up, if that is easier. I will return them to you at Central.
THANKS!!!
If I can find the thing (along with my cactus pictures) I will drop it off.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Max.
ReplyDeleteI can drop mine off tomorrow (Aug. 15) after the tennis hit-around at 4:30at your house.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to, Tionna! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI now have Tionna's journal and Rachel's--I asked her brother Erik to bring it in, and he did.
ReplyDeleteHow was your first week of high school? Was I correct about the class discussion of the summer reading?
Um... not really. We mostly talked about rules and materials and stuff like that. We're supposed to do a timed writing on Monday(?).
ReplyDeleteNo Max, I think it is on Wed. But my first week was pretty good. I have good teachers and a great schedule. But I finished my book for the second time and I keep going over ideas about how I going to write my essay. I guess it is a timed writing (90 mins.). We are supposed to be writing a lot this year.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Mammen, you didn't answer the door and Tierra was getting antsy so I just left it on your door. I'm glad you received it!
You asked earlier about what our favorite thing that we did last year was...mine was Agatha Christie. I was thinking about it when I was reading a little bit of "The Murder of Rodger Ackroyd" today. I forgot how many great vocab words are in there!
I talked to my mom and she said tht would be fine. I'll probably drop it off at your house later today, but if your not home i will just leave it in your mail box.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to know that someone enjoyed the Agatha Christie unit, as I am planning to repeat it this year.
ReplyDeleteGabe--I spotted your vocabulary journal in my mailbox this afternoon. Thanks!
Do you guys remember how long it took me to grade your vocabulary journals last year? This year I have FIFTY advanced English students! YIKES!!!!
Oh my gosh! Well you have your work cut out for you this year, Mrs. Mammen. Just be sure that they know what to expect, be TOUGH on them!!!
