Well, officially Illinois Senator Barack Hussein Obama Jr. will become the 44th President of the United States of America on January 20, 2009. Personally, I'm thrilled, but some of you might not be. There's a lot of work to be done, and hopefully President Obama can do it.

I am so happy right now. Obama actually made the Presidency... by a landslide in the electoral college! No Palin! How great is that?
That is not great at all Max! I would have liked to seen McCain win but i mean it was kinda predictable that Obama was gonna win. Republicans didn't stand a chance at all this election season.
I wouldn't have cared if McCain had become President, but he had to go and choose Palin...
I also would've rather seen McCain win. It kind of bugged me that some people just voted for him because they're black and and is black as well. That kind of bothered me because they weren't educated about him, and if you were a voter, you should be educated and not go by race.
I would have also liked to see McCain win the election. I mean, I'm glad that we made a decision and I hope that he does well. All this stuff on the news about Palin are ridiculous. I think see would have been a great vice president. McCain would have done fine with all the issues about our economy, health care, security, and everything else. Oh well, everyone is liable to have an opinion. Mrs. Mammen? I saw Sammy reading Death on the Nile yesterday in geometry after our test when there was free time. Are you doing the Agatha Christie section now in your class?
I'm checking in!
I voted for Obama, and I have to agree wholeheartedly with Max's take on the competition--John McCain is a genuine American hero and no doubt would have made a fine President, but Caribou Barbie was NOT ready for the White House. Good Grief. My husband voted for that ticket, though. We usually cancel each other out at the ballot.
My Advanced English classes are wrapping up the Agatha Christie unit this week--character jigsaw, test review games, test, and movie. I'm organizing the mystery spoof night, too. I added a "body biography" wall for And Then There Were None, and it turned out great. I wish you guys could have done one last year, but there just weren't enough of you!
After Thanksgiving we're taking the state writing assessment, then finishing out the semester with "A Christmas Memory" by Truman Capote. I really wish I had thought of that for your class last year, too. Sorry.
I'm starting an online graduate class tomorrow called "Virtual Field Trips." Doesn't that sound fantastic? I hope to develop a virtual field trip for the Holocaust unit.
Dang. No one has posted anything in a long time
