I had a great time at the River Festival. My husband and I have been "Festival Enthusiasts" and "art patrons" for many years, but this year we added "Fine Arts Committee Volunteers" to our repertoire. I was a little worried when I saw how many hours we were scheduled to work over the weekend, but it turned out to be quite a lot of fun. Essentially, we got to sit under a shady tent and greet everyone as they strolled past.
I wasn't able to spend as much time eating festival food as I normally do, but that is no doubt a good thing. I also did my part as a citizen to keep the economy rolling--I spent WAAAAY more than I should have on several pieces of jewelry and several paintings, including one of a major size.
I also had a blast at this years river festival! As usual! I was practically there all weekend. I had to be there at 6:45am on saturday,but other than that it was quite enjoyable. In addition to indulging in all the great food and music I made a few purchases. I bought this adorable necklace from this amazing booth and I also purchased a print from my favorite river festival artist, Bekah Ash.
It was a little more difficut for me to enjoy the Fest this year, because while my parents were enjoying my dad's 20th high school reunion, I had to take care of Beatrice, while entertaining guests of my own, Logan and Jeff.
I also had fun at the Festival. But since most days my family members had to work (the real world!), I didn't get to go and spend as much time as I wanted to. But I bought a pair of earrings and 2 pieces of pottery, my annual artist.
