Hi there, Mrs. Mammen! So far so good. We haven't gotten lost yet (my dad is driving and he usually gets lost). We stopped in Burlington, CO last night at 10:00 pm and stayed in a Comfort Inn. It's actually really nice. There are computers, a big pool, and a workout room. The breakfast was pretty great, too. Well today we are going to Denver and we're going to visit the Aquarium and the wildlife place. Should be fun :). Talk to you later, bye!
So, I saw that you wanted to hear about Canada. :] Well, the drive there didn't take extremely long because we were in Michigan and they're close. To get there we went under this long tunnel under a lake. We shopped in the malls and we also went to try and find this peninsula of Lake Eerie, and I swam in lake Eerie. It was pretty fun. But on the way back it took like and hour before we could leave because the police are asking a bunch of questions to every car that pulls up to find out if they are a terrorist or not!
Yeah, because when a police officer says, "Are you a terrorist?", you're just going to say yes. I hope the questions were more in depth then that. OACTMNMM
Well of course they didn't just ask if we were terrorists. If there actually was a terrorist that answered yes to that, they would be an idiot, unless they were trying to purposely blow their cover. But I would find it pretty amusing.
Sounds like fun Linsday! Max, what does OACTMNMM mean? We got back tonight at 9:00. We didn't go to the Aquarium but we went to visit the Coors Brewery in Golden, CO. It really stunk in there. But we went to bike riding, horse back riding, and fishing in Estes. We went up Old Fall River Road, a one-way dirt road that was very steep but also extremely scenic. Then, we took Trail Ridge Road down. Overall, it was loads of fun. My mom and dad bought two hybrid bicycles for a really great price. On our way back to Salina, we took a different route through Nebraska. North-western Kansas is veeeeeeeerrrrrrry dry. About everything was dead. There was definatly more beautiful streams and rivers in Colorado. It took about 10 hours to arrive back in Salina.
Table Rock Lake was beautiful--my husband and I stayed at Big Cedar Lodge, and you must encourage your parents to take you there! It's a very upscale "back woods" lodge sort of place--not at all your average hillbilly Missouri/Arkansas moonshine motel I normally see down there. We rented a ski boat everyday we were there, and it was great fun dashing about on the cool green water. Actually, the water was a gorgeous shade of green, but it certainly wasn't cool.
I am so glad to know that Canada and Colorado didn't disappoint. Tionna, your posts were so vivid I felt as though I practically was there!
I go back to work TODAY--Aug. 6. You all had better savor your final week of vacation. Have you read your books for advanced English? Do you need to discuss any thematic sorts of questions before you head back to school?
I'm going to read "They Cage the Animals at Night" again today. But my mom wanted to know if we needed to read both of them and how the teacher if supposed to know which one we read? I told her that we write a report on the book we read so we don't need to read both of them. Is this correct?
It really stinks though because now this year most all the kids are going to be in advanced English so it won't be near as much fun :(. But I guess there's nothing I can do about that.
***Where are we meeting tomorrow night for the show, what time, how much money do I need to bring for dinner, and where are we eating at (are we eating together or do I need to eat before I come?)???***
What Tionna?! Like all of the kids that are supposed to be in advanced English will be in the same class?? Because that's a lot of people and I don't want to be in a big class!
NO, NO, NO Lindsay!!! What I ment was that I think that there will be more classes of people in advanced English. I only think that there will be a regular class size just more separate classes. Does that make sense? Oh never mind, I don't know what I'm talking about :D.

Have fun! Everyone who hasn't already told us about your vacation should tell us about it now!
